Sadly, I took too long to post this for it to be of much good to anyone reading. Islam: What the West Needs to Know, was in theatres in DC, Atlanta, and Chicago for a week in the middle of July. The independent documentary aired at a film festival in Hollywood back in January. Out on DVD eventually? We all hope so. It was bashed in the Chicago Sun-Times, immediately below a favourable view of a flick that disparages the Iraq war. If that is not enough of an incentive to at least watch it, how ’bout this line:
“Multiculturalism and postmodern liberalism are not worth dying for.”
Now, I’ll be the first to admit that atheism has killed (100 million in gulags during the second half of the 20th century, give or take a few), but the movie is absolutely sobering. It is not often that one gets to hear the opinion of a former PLO terrorist about exactly how the mandates of his religion compelled him to kill infidels. The sixth part of the film contains news clippings from the Middle East, which are downright sobering. As best as I can recall: “And we shall dominate the world, so that even a lowly rock will cry out, ‘There is a Jew hiding behind me; behead him!'”
For those who see it, I recommend watching with a pachyderm-sized portion of ice cream and/or anti-depressants. Also recommend, should one have time, a reading of the Qu’ran beforehand.
