Food Wars

The New York Times continues to weigh in on the food issue.  It’s newest target: snacks for kids after soccer games.  While the author, understandably, dislikes the idea of enforced snacking after every activity, he forgets what it is like to be a seven-year-old.   They are hungry all the time.  They also had school lunches that consisted of six pieces of pasta, and that was at 11 o’clock.  Five hours later, they are famished.   Nutritionists agree that we should eat every three or four hours.  Don’t complain about snack time – complain about the fact that your kid’s school does not work on hobbit time, with first lunches and second lunches and tea time.  :p
