Salmonella in Tomatoes

A recent outbreak of salmonella-infested tomatoes has sickened 183 people. Of course, this comes right after the spinach debacle. Salmonellosis is passed through human and animal waste products, which leads the pachyderm to ask what type of farming practices would cause salmonellosis to come in contact with vegetables. Sigh.
