Waffles, no Freedom Toast

Hillary Clinton claims that she was deceived by President Bush.  As Richard Cohen points out, she seems to have this problem a lot.

“Instead of Clinton saying she had been misled by Bush and his merry band of fibbers, exaggerators and hallucinators, I’d like to hear an explanation of how she thinks she went wrong and what she learned from it. I don’t want to know how Bush failed her. I want to know how she failed her country.”

Exactly.  Why can’t she just do a John Kerry and call it a day: “I voted for it before I voted against it?”

More importantly, if she is this easily deceived by men, why does she deem herself competent to run a country?  Will Hillary take the same babe-in-the-woods approach to foreign despots?

E.J. Dionne opines about the importance of the abortion litmus test.  In his opinion, politicians should be able to take a more nuanced view of the problem.  He misses a key point, however: as long as Roe v. Wade remains the judicial fiat law of the land, politiicans on the Left can take any stance they want on abortion without fear of having to follow through.  Politicians on the right are under pressure to deliver: inter alia, parental notification rights, bans on aborting 8-month-old fetuses, spousal notification, informed consent, and appointing judges who read the Constitution in the light and therefore can’t see its penumbras.

    Enough said.

  2. Before this is over, the fresh way to CYA by hornswoggle
    will dominate American politics.

Just what we need. A large percentage of elected officials , victims of boondoggle, not bright enough to recognize it, until it’s too late.

    So much for womens intuition.

Is it possible the smartest woman in the world really isn’t?

    Hank

    Poor misled legislator.

    Pathetic excuses.

And, they’re all lying. ALL of ’em.

  4. Thanks for stopping in, Hank & Tammi. :)

Hank, you’re right about Hillary really not being that smart – which is pathetic that she’s playing herself as a girl who had the wool pulled over her eyes, first by the 42d Pres and now the 43d Pres. Makes it hard to be a smart woman.

She’s not endearing herself to the anti-war crowd and she certainly isn’t endearing herself to the troops or the hawks.
