But Guantanamo is a Travesty!

CNN reports that Waleed bin Attas, an Al-Qaeda operative, confessed to the bombing of the USS Cole in 2000 and the 1998 attacks on US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Currently, there are hearings to determine if bin Attas and his co-murderers should be tried as enemy combatants. Another prisoner, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, confessed to helping to orchestrate dozens of plots, including the 9/11 attacks.

Just remember: according to liberals, Guantanamo is not going to bring anyone to justice and can only make peaceful, law-abiding citizens of the Middle East want to murder us.

The headlines of today’s New York Times include, “Bush Pleads for Patience in Iraq,” and “A New Sorrow for Afghanistan: AIDS Joins List.” There is, however, no mention about a confession from an Al-Qaeda operative who confessed to his participation in the plot that killed over two hundred people. Go figure.

Edit: 56 minutes ago, the New York Times finally broke the story (i.e. at 5 pm).  It is located directly underneath an article about detainee who claimed to have been beaten while in U.S. custody, and next to an article about Bill Clinton’s spinning class.  (Does anyone know how to do screen shots?)
